The Code of Notifications After 8 PM

While devices may continue to operate as designed, it has been determined that not all incoming information requires acknowledgment within the same evening.

To maintain a more measured pace, Flyers has established the following Code.
Approved Notification Behavior
• Messages may be read without immediate response
• Non-urgent communication may be mentally categorized as “tomorrow”
• Group chats may continue without active participation
• Phones may be placed screen-down without explanation
It is not necessary to signal availability simply because you are present.
Disallowed Interpretations
• Assuming urgency where none has been stated.
• Responding out of habit rather than intention.
• Believing that silence implies absence or disinterest.

On Read Receipts
These are informational, not contractual. No action is required upon triggering.
On Curiosity
Wondering “what it is” does not obligate you to find out immediately. The answer will keep.
For Experienced Practitioners
With consistency, a shift occurs. Evenings begin to feel less like an extension of the day and more like something distinctly your own.
A quiet room tends to follow.

Issued without urgency.
